Red Horn Division celebrates the Republic Day

Guwahati, Jan 26 (IBNS): Unit of Red Horn Division deployed in Assam’s Goalpara and South Salmara Mankachar districts organised flag hoisting and Weapon Display on the occasion of 70th Republic Day with the aim to instill the feeling of Nationalism and patriotism in the local youth.

The event was also marked by a weapon display programme in which platoon and Coy support weapons were displayed.

The event was attended by more than 1500 locals of both Goalpara and South Salmara Mankachar District. The weapon display was well appreciated by the locals and Civil adm dignitaries.

Unit of Red Horns Division, in conjunction with civil administration, also celebrated the 70th Republic Day at Kokrajhar High School ground with great pomp and show.

Celebrations started off with Flag Hoisting and Army Band Display. A weapons display was also organised. Around 1700 people, including children, locals and civil dignitaries attended and appreciated the celebrations.

Weapon were also displayed at Bilasipara and Dhubri sub-divisions of Dhubri and in Abyapuri in Bongaigaon on  the occasion of Republic Day. This event was organised with an objective to reach out to the masses especially the Youths and school going students and to motivated the youths to join the Indian Army.

The celebration also included a wide array of military weapons and was attended by more than 548 Students, 428 Civilians, 109 NCC cadets and 46 NSS from Dhubri and Bongaigaon. Such events create greater understanding between the civilian populance and the Indian Army and also foster good relations between Army and the local security agencies.
