New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS) : Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till 2 pm on Monday amid uproar and chaos following continued protests by Opposition members against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move, reports said.

Both the Houses witnessed adjournments twice as the Opposition demanded that  "people's money should be given back to them".

In the Rajya Sabha, the Opposition also agitated  over the people's plight following cash crunch as Congress,BSP,SP and TMC members trooped into the well, raising slogans demanding reply from the Government.forcing Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien to adjourn the House till noon and then again till 2 pm.

The Lok Sabha  witnessed a similar scene, even though Speaker Sumitra Mahajan admitted a motion for a debate under a rule that does not entail voting.

Raising the demonetisation issue, Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav said  16 people have died in Uttar Pradesh as a direct result of demonetisation.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, "I thank the opposition that they never doubted government’s motive behind demonetisation."

Singh assured the members that the Government will try its best best to incorporate suggestions by opposition.

However, despite that sloganeering continued and the House had to be adjourned.
