Rajnath slams Rahul for comments against PM Modi

| @indiablooms | May 03, 2019, at 11:24 pm

Lucknow May 3 (UNI): Union home minister and the BJP candidate from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat Rajnath Singh on Friday lashed out at the Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his remarks and allegations against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP president Amit shah.

"The comments made by the Congress president against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP president Amit Shah are unprecedented in the parliamentary history of India. Violation of the dignity and decorum weakens the democracy and it’s the duty of all political parties to maintain the decorum of the democracy. No other political leader ever made such indecent comments about the prime minister as made by the Congress president," said Rajnath Singh while addressing election meeting here on Friday.

"Rahul Gandhi was hauled by the Supreme court for his unparliamentarily remarks against the Prime Minister. He only expressed regrets for the remarks and he had to tender unconditional apology on the directions of the Supreme court," said Rajnath Singh. "Narendra Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat for over a decade and had a spotless record and during his term as Prime Minister accomplished that even common person would endorse that he took the country to new heights."

"I appeal to every BJP worker to never utter any undignified word against our political rivals, be they are from the Samajwadi party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress. In a healthy democracy there is no place for abusive language and false allegations and the debate should always be around the issues of the people and the nation," said Rajnath Singh.

"The Narendra Modi government in the past five years made stellar achievements in all fields be it diplomacy and international relations, economy, strategic affairs and economy. Except the Lok Sabha elections in 2004, galloping inflation had always been a big issue in all previous elections. This issue is missing in this election and no political party has dared to make an issue out of inflation. This feat has been achieved due to the fine management of the economy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," said Rajnath Singh.

Listing the measures for curbing the corruption by the NDA government, Rajnath Singh said: "Besides bringing the legislation to confiscate the benami property the government introduced fugitive economic offenders Act to nab the economic offenders who fled the nation following the tough enforcement of the laws by the Narendra Modi government.

"From 1947 to 2008, Indian banks disbursed Rs 18 Lakh crore as loans and advances to corporate sector and in a short period of six years from 2008 to 2014 public sector banks disbursed loan s worth Rs 52 lakh crore which led to huge bad debts or non-performing assets. Modi government tightened the noose against the defaulters resulting in many businessman fleeing the country. All fugitive economic offenders will not only be brought back to India they will also be brought to justice," said Rajnath Singh.

Rajnath Singh also listed the development works carried out in Lucknow during the last five years. He said the work on 104 km long ring road in Luck now is in progress and will be completed in July. He said to rid the Lucknow of traffic jam, five flyovers are under construction and all the railway stations in Lucknow, including Charbagh, Gomati nagar, Badshah Nagar and Alam Nagar are being modernized for the facility of the rail passengers.
