Barmer/UNI: At least 11 people lost their lives, while 20 were left injured, after a bus collided with a tanker trailer on the Barmer-Jodhpur Highway in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

According to Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava, the accident took place at Bhandiyawas village of Barmer district, leading to on-the-spot death of nine bus passengers, while one person was burnt in the trailer.

The injured were shifted to Nahata Hospital of Balotra, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.

Eight seriously-injured persons have been referred to Jodhpur, added the SP.

Bhargava said 28 passengers had taken tickets at the time of departure of the bus and later, more passengers may have boarded the bus on way, adding that there was no information about such passengers.
