Hyderabad, Oct 3 (IBNS): The local administration began relief operations in rain-struck Hyderabad on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The city of the Nizams got a fierce lashing on Monday from heavy rains on Monday evening, which threw life out of gear and flooded low-lying areas.

Three people died on Monday from rain-related incidents, local reports said.

Officials have termed it as a cloudburst over the city and said some areas witnessed seven to 12 centimeter of rainfall, media reported.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) was quoted by the media as saying that 82.6 mm of rain was recorded in Hyderabad from 8.30am on Monday to 8.30am on Tuesday.
