Rahul Gandhi pays tributes to Aryadan Muhammed

Malappuram/UNI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is in Kerala for 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', visited Nilambur and offered last respect to senior party leader and former Kerala minister Aryadan Muhammed who died at the age of 87 due to prolonged illness at his residence here on Sunday.

Following the conclusion of the morning session of the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi went to Nilambur by a chopper. Later, he returned to Thrissur to proceed with the Yatra without any change of its schedule.

In the evening session, the Yatra will reach at 7 pm at Vettikkattiri and will halt at Jyoti Engineering College near Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted: "Heartfelt condolences to the family of senior Congress leader from Kerala, Aryadan Muhammed ji. An 8-time MLA, he was a grassroots politician, an excellent administrator and an even better human being. His passing is a huge loss to the party and a personal loss to me."

"A committed Congressman, his contributions to the development and progress of Kerala will always be greatly valued," he said.

He also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
