Rahul Gandhi pays homage to Sardar Patel on death anniversary

New Delhi, Dec 15 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday paid his homage to a famous Indian freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his death anniversary.

Rahul tweeted: ""Take to the path of dharma – the path of truth and justice. Don’t misuse your valour. Remain united. March forward in all humility, but fully awake to the situation you face, demanding your rights with firmness" My humble tributes to Sardar Patel on his Punyatithi."

Earlier, Modi tweeted to say: "We remember the great Sardar Patel on his Punya Tithi. Every Indian is indebted to Sardar Patel for his monumental service to our nation."

Nicknamed the Iron Man of India, Sardar Patel served as the country's first deputy Prime Minister.

He died in 1950 at an age of 75.
