Rahul Gandhi comes back from Europe, reaches flood-affected Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 28 (IBNS): After finishing his Europe tour, Congress president Rahul Gandhi reached flood-hit Kerala on Tuesday.

Rahul was received by senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital.

The Congress chief will meet the survivors of the flood and also felicitate fishermen who rescued several people from the dire situation.

Tharoor tweeted, "Received @RahulGandhi on his arrival in Thiruvananthapuram from Europe on his way to visit areas affected by the #KeralaFloods. He will meet the heroic survivors & félicitate fishermen who sacrificed so much to rescue trapped people"

Kerala has been badly hit by floods in recent times.

More than 400 people have been killed in the incident.

Rahul was on a four-day trip to Germany and the UK. He attended several public programmes on the foreign soil.
