Rahul Gandhi accuses government of diverting attention from deaths of Indians in Mosul
New Delhi, Mar 22 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has accused the central government of diverting the people's attention from the news of death of 39 Indians in Mosul as it has allegedly been caught lying.
In a tweet on Thursday, Rahul said the government is trying to divert attention by inventing a story of Congress' link to data breach on Facebook, which has rocked the nation since Wednesday.
The tweet reads, "Problem: 39 Indians dead; Govt on the mat, caught lying. Solution: Invent story on Congress & Data Theft. Result: Media networks bite bait; 39 Indians vanish from radar. Problem solved."

The Congress and the BJP have been accusing each other since Tuesday of playing politics over the news of the killing Indians, who were captivated in Mosul, Iraq, by the ISIS.
Swaraj on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that 39 Indians, who had gone missing in Iraqi town Mosul in 2014, have been killed.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday evening, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala lashed out at the central government and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for allegedly suppressing the news of the deaths of 39 Indians for four years.
Within 24-hours of dying down the news, the two largest political party of the country caught themselves in a verbal tussle over the data theft row.
Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad on Tuesday alleged that the Congress has links with Cambridge Analytica, a British consulting company, alleged to have harvested private data of Facebook, while warning the popular social networking site against any attempt to influence India's electoral process.
Prasad alleged that the Congress party committed data theft and manipulated data to win elections. He questioned the role of Cambridge Analytica, which was named in an investigative report by Britain's channel 4 for having harvested data of up to 50 million Facebook users without permission and using them to help politicians.
Cambridge Analytica has also consistently denied any wrongdoing and most recently suspended its boss Alexander Nix, after footage by Britain's Channel 4 News showed him appearing to suggest tactics his company could use to discredit politicians online.
