Amritsar, Mar 11 (IBNS): Cricketer- turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday said the party's victory in Punjab Assembly election is a revival for the organisation.

Sidhu, who had left the BJP before elections contested  from Amritsar East constituency as a Congress candidate.

"The victory is the revival of Congress...Congress will gain energy from the win in Punjab," Sidhu said.

The trends of election result show  that the Congress is going to form the Government leaving behind Akali Dal and Aam Admi Party.

Sidhu credited Congress chief of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi for this victory.

Congratulating the party workers, Sidhu said: "It is a win of Congress workers along with leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh and Rahul Gandhi."

He also attacked the Aam Admi Party questioning its political intentions.

Speaking about Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance, he said: "They were defeated in the election because they did business in Punjab."
