Punjab: SSOC officials arrest associate of terrorist Lakhbir Rode

In a major breakthrough, the State Special Operating Cell (SSOC) Amritsar has arrested UK-based Paramjit Singh alias Punjab Singh alias Dhadi from Amritsar airport.

State DGP Gaurav Yadav told UNI on Tuesday that an associate of Lakhbir Singh Rode, Chief of banned terrorist outfit ISYF, Dhadi has been involved in terror funding and other subversive activities in Punjab.

He said the investigation is on to unearth and expose the terrorist network.

Yadav also said that it was a major blow to the terror module attempting to disturb peace in the region.

Meanwhile, terrorist Lakhbir Singh Rode died in Pakistan due to a heart attack on Saturday.

Former Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Jasbir Singh Rode on Tuesday confirmed his death. He was living in Pakistan for a long time.

Rode, the chief of the banned organization Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) in India, was the nephew of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

The Government of India had declared him a terrorist under UAPA and after which he fled to Pakistan.
