Punjab: Man booked for abducting girl on pretext of marriage

Phagwara, May 12(UNI) On a complaint lodged by Manjit Kaur resident of Village Chachoki, the police have registered a case against a resident of the same village on the charges of abducting her daughter.

Case against Jai Kumar was registered under section 363/366IPC for abducting Manjit's daughter studying in BCA on the pretext of marrying her.

No arrest has been made till so far.

In another incident, three Persons reportedly set a tractor on fire in nearby village Dhandhali.

The Complainant Karamjit Singh in his written complaint lodged before Rawalpindi Police alleged that a Youth Sewa Singh resident of Village Bhakhraiana along with two other unknown youths sprinkled oil and set his tractor on fire and ran away on the night of May 8.

The Police have registered a case under section 336/436/427 IPC against the culprits.
