Puducherry: Man arrested under POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a girl student

Puducherry, Nov 6 (UNI) A 32-year-old man was arrested under the Protection of Chidren from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Wednesday for sexually assaulting a 9th standard girl student of a private school here.

According to police, Alex alias Alexander of Ariyankuppam here, a driver with the Puducherry Milk Producers Union made contact with the girl.


Coming to know that she lost her father and her mother was alone in their home, Alex visited their house when the mother is away and sexually assaulted several times after threatening her.

Neighbours who noticed the visit of Alex informed the girl's mother who lodged a complaint with the Mudaliarpet police.
