Puducherry: Congress MLA John Kumar resigns

Puducherry/UNI: Close on the heels of Malladi Krishna Rao Congress member elected from Yanam constituency and former health minister resigning his MLA post yesterday, another congress member elected from Kamaraj Nagar constituency John Kumar resigned his post on Tuesday.

John Kumar submitted his resignation letter to speaker V Sivakolunthu today.

John Kumar initially elected from Nellithoppe constituency resigned his seat to pave way for chief minister V Narayanasmay to contest and become a member of the territorial assembly.Later, when Mr. V Vaithilingam who was elected Lok Sabha member from Puducherry resigned from Kamaraj Nagar constituency, John Kumar contested the by-election and won .

The Congress government led by V Narayanasmay was reduced to a minority with the resignation of John Kumar.
