Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes Smriti Irani on birthday

New Delhi, Mar 23 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished Union Minister Smriti Irani on her birthday.

Appreciating her, Modi said she is on the forefront of transforming India’s crucial textiles sector.

"Greetings to Union Minister @smritiirani Ji on her birthday. Smriti Ji is at the forefront of transforming India’s crucial textiles sector. May she lead a long life, filled with good health," Modi tweeted.

Before joining politics, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani was once a popular face in Indian television industry.

In 2000, she made her début with TV series Aatish and Hum Hain Kal Aaj Aur Kal, both aired on Star Plus.

In mid-2000, Irani won the lead role of Tulsi Virani in Ekta Kapoor's production Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus.
