Prez Kovind, PM Modi, Vice President extend Diwali greetings
New Delhi/UNI: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Ministers and other leaders on Thursday greeted the people on the occasion of Diwali.
Extending his greetings and warm wishes to the countrymen, the President in a tweet in Hindi said, "Diwali is the festival of victory of good over evil. This is the festival of light over darkness. Let us celebrate this festival in a clean and safe way and pledge to contribute to protect the environment."
Greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Lakshadweep and Puducherry on the formation day. My best wishes to the residents of these States and Union Territories for their bright future.

"Greetings to the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. I wish that this festival of lights brings happiness, prosperity, and good fortune in everyone's life," the PM said in a tweet in Hindi.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali.
In a message in Twitter, the VP said, "My greetings on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Signifying the victory of good over evil, the festival reaffirms our belief in the noble ideals of Shri Rama’s life.
"May this festival that brings light, harmony and prosperity into our lives usher in a new enthusiasm to make our lives more fulfilling and bring happiness to everyone."
