President's Rule imposed in Uttarakhand

Dehradun/New Delhi, Mar 27 (IBNS): Following the political crisis in Uttarakhand, President's rule has been imposed in the state.
The Cabinet on Saturday night recommended the imposition of Central rule in Uttarakhand. 
 
President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday gave an approval to the same.
 
In a bid to discuss the political situation in  Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called an emergency meeting of the cabinet.
 
Uttarakhand is facing a political crisis where some Congress lawmakers have rebelled against Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
 
Nine Congress lawmakers had rebelled against Rawat in March as they sought a vote division on the floor of the house.
 
The Speaker, however, rejected the demand made by them.
