President, VP, PM wish nation on Holi

New Delhi, Mar 23 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President M Hamid Ansari wished the nation on the occasion of Holi.

“On the joyous occasion of Holi, I extend warm greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen," Mukherjee said in his message.

"The festival of Holi symbolizes the vibrant colours of our diverse multicultural society and the spirit of tolerance and harmony that has been the essence of our culture and civilisation. May this unique festival of colours be a joyous expression of the spirit of pluralism. May it strengthen the fraternal bonds amongst our citizens," he said.

In his message, the Vice-President said: “I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the auspicious occasion of Holi – the festival of colours."

"Celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm throughout the country, Holi marks the onset of warmer season and victory of good over evil," he said.

"May this festival bring peace, harmony, prosperity and happiness in our lives," Ansari said.

In his tweet, Modi said: "Happy Holi to all of you!"
