President of India’s message on the eve of Independence Day of Tajikistan

New Delhi, Sep 8 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Tajikistan on the eve of their 25th Independence Day (September 9, 2016).

In a message to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the Indian President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I convey warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Tajikistan on the 25th anniversary of your Independence Day.

India and Tajikistan have, over the years, laid a strong foundation for a close relationship, which is based on our common history and cultural linkages. I am happy that the exchange of visits and interactions at the highest level have contributed to strengthening of the Strategic Partnership between our two countries.

I am confident that our bilateral relationship will continue to deepen in the years to come and contribute to the larger stability, security and prosperity of the region and our countries.

I take this opportunity to convey my good wishes for Your Excellency’s good health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Tajikistan.”
