President Kovind approives Governor's rule in J&K

| @indiablooms | Jun 20, 2018, at 08:46 am

New Delhi/Srinagar, June 20 (IBNS): President Ram Nath Kovind has approved Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

The move became necessary after the government in the state collapsed following the end of the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

State governor NN Vohra will be presiding over the state following the approval of the President.

The BJP on Tuesday withdrew from its alliance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP's Kashmir In-charge Ram Madhav told media that "it has become untenable for the BJP to continue with PDP."

Mehbooba Mufti also submitted her resignation to the Governor on the same day.
