Pranab Mukherjee wishes people of Brunei Darussalam ahead of national day

New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Sultan and people of Brunei Darussalam on the eve of their National Day which will be observed on Tuesday.

In a message to Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, the President said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in extending warm greetings to your Majesty and the people of Brunei Darussalam on the occasion of your National Day. "

"India and Brunei Darussalam have long enjoyed close ties of friendship and cooperation. Brunei is an important partner in India's 'Act East' Policy. I am confident that our ongoing exchanges in various spheres will enable an even closer partnership between our two countries and elevate our relationship to greater heights in the years to come," Mukherjee said.

"Please accept, Your Majesty, my best wishes for your good health and personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Brunei Darussalam," he said.
