Pranab Mukherjee wishes nation on Mahavir Jayanti

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee has wished the nation on Mahavir Jayanti.

“On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I convey best wishes and greetings to all my fellow countrymen in India and abroad," the President said.

"Bhagwan Mahavira’s philosophy of ahimsa, truth, compassion and non-violence are of increasing relevance in today’s world," he said.

He said: "On this day, let us imbibe his teaching of right faith, right knowledge and right conduct. Let us unite and build a society free from violence, terrorism and exploitation.”
