Puducherry/UNI: The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has deserted the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Puducherry and decided to fight the April 6 assembly elections here alone.

Party state convener Dhanraj told news persons on Saturday that no  seat was allotted to the PMK in NDA despite several rounds of talks.

Since, PMK was not given due respect in NDA, it deserted the coalition and five of the party candidates will file their nomination papers on Monday next, Dhanraj said.
