PM Modi urges all to use more handloom products on National Handloom Day

New Delhi, Aug 7 (IBNS): On the occasion of National Handloom Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all to use more of handloom products in daily lives.


“On National Handloom Day, let us affirm that we will give an impetus to the handloom sector and use more handloom products in our daily lives," PM Modi said on Sunday.

He said: "Our handloom sector is diverse, eco friendly and is a source of employment for countless weavers, who will be very encouraged by our support."

He said the sector is very significant for empowerment of women.

"Since there are many women associated with the handloom sector, growth of the handloom sector is an important means of women empowerment also,” the PM said.
