PM Modi to kickstart BJP poll campaign in Assam today

Guwahati, Jan 19 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the BJP poll campaign in Assam with a rally in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday.

BJP has tied up with the Bodo People's Front ahead of polls in May-June. It is also trying to forge alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the campus of Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) during his visit.

The Assam Governor, Chief minister, Union HRD minister Smriti Irani, state education minister Sarat Borkotoky are expected to attend the function.
