PM Modi leaves for Russia to attend informal summit with Vladimir Putin

New Delhi, May 21 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday left for Russia to attend an informal summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Modi has left New Delhi, the capital of India, on Monday morning.

The two leaders are expected to meet on Monday itself.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar, tweeted to say, "PM @narendramodi off to an early start to #Sochi in Russia for the Informal Summit with the Russian President Putin. The two leaders are expected to discuss steps to cement our already solid partnership over several meetings in the course of the day. @mfa_russia"

Earlier Modi had tweeted stating he is confident that the bilateral talks will further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

The PM's tweet reads, "Am confident the talks with President Putin will further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia. @KremlinRussia_E @PutinRF_Eng"
