New Delhi, July 19 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on Tuesday on the occasion of Guru Purnima.

"Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima," Modi tweeted.

Guru Purnima is celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. People express gratitude to their teachers or guru on this day. It is widely celebrated in India and Nepal.
