New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has filed his nomination from the Varanasi constituency of Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Modi was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the DM office in Varanasi.

Prior to the filing of nomination, Modi offered prayers at Kaal Bhairav Temple in Varanasi.

Priests at the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi held prayers for Modi's massive victory from the constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.

As he came out of the DM office, Modi was flanked by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath.

In 2014, Modi contested from two seats, Gujarat's Gandhinagar and Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi. After winning from both the seats, Modi held on to Varanasi, which is located in the state which has 80 Lok Sabha MPs.

In 2019, Modi was re-elected to Lok Sabha from the same constituency.
