PM Modi distributes 71k appointment letters to newly recruits

New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday distributed about seventy-one thousand appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in the government services under the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing.

This is the fifth Rozgar Mela being organised by the government at 45 locations across the country.

Addressing the newly appointees, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "in the last 9 years, the Government o has also given priority to making the government recruitment process faster, more transparent and fair"

"During the last 9 years, there has been a great focus towards boosting employment opportunities in the country. Be it building modern infrastructure or rural development and policy of the Government acts as a door to generating employment for the youth" he said.

The Prime Minister said the nature of Job has also changed very fast in the last 9 years and in these changing circumstances, new sectors have emerged for the youth.

"The Central Government is continuously supporting these new sectors, particularly a new revolution in start-up culture" he added.

The speed and scale at which India is working today is also unprecedented in the history of 75 years of independence.

The Prime Minister said the government has expended an amount worth around 34 lakh crore rupees as the Capital Expenditure for the basic amenities of people's lives.

"In the latest budget only, an amount worth Rs. 10 lakh crore has been earmarked for the Capital Expenditure," he said.

Talking about the startups, he said since 2014, the country has seen a new revolution of the Startup Culture.

"There were around 100 Startups in the country whereas the number stands at around 1 lakh, today" he added.

Speaking about Mudra Yojana, the Prime Minister said that an amount worth around 23 lakh crore rupees has been disbursed under MUDRA Yojana and the scheme has boosted entrepreneurship and employment in an unprecedented manner.

Union Minister for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh said that these appointments are being done in the different Ministries and Departments of the Central government.

"In the last nine years, the Narendra Modi government has made available several avenues through which lakhs of opportunities for employment and livelihood have been created," he said.

The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation.

The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
