PM Modi condoles Fidel Castro's death

New Delhi, Nov 26 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Fidel Castro, Cuba's former President and leader of the communist movement.

Castro, 90, breathed his last on Saturday.

"I extend my deepest condolences to the Government & people of Cuba on the sad demise of Fidel Castro. May his soul rest in peace," the PM's tweet read.

"We stand in support with the Cuban Government and people in this tragic hour," he added.

Calling Castro and iconic figure of the 20th century, Modi said, "Fidel Castro was one of the most iconic personalities of the 20th century. India mourns the loss of a great friend."
