New Delhi, Dec 1 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condemned the attack on CRPF personnel at Sukma district in Chhattisgarh which killed at least 13 jawans.

He said: "Have spoken to Home Minister @BJPRajnathSingh & Chhattisgarh CM @drramansingh. We are monitoring the situation closely."

Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh said the government will take all steps to punish the culprits.

"I assure every citizen that Govt. will leave no stone unturned to punish the culprits of this extreme cowardly act of violence by naxals," he tweeted.

In a deadly Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, at least 13 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, including two officers, were killed, leaving the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemning the attack.

According to reports, the Maoists attacked security forces when they were carrying out an operation deep inside the forests.
