Washington DC/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday is attending a luncheon hosted by US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the State Department.

PM Modi is currently on a historic state visit to the US at the invitation of President Joe Biden.

On Thursday, he addressed the joint session of the US Congress followed by a state dinner hosted by President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at The White House.

PM Modi became the first Indian leader to address the joint session of the US Congress twice on Thursday.

"The US-India partnership is stronger than ever. Together, our nations will shape the future as we work to create a more prosperous, secure, and healthy world," Kamala Harris' office tweeted on Thursday.

Earlier welcoming PM Modi, Harris said: "The partnership between the United States and India is one of the most important of the 21st century, and this visit will take our partnership to the next level - from space to defence, to emerging technology and supply chains."

Prime Minister Modi, in his response, thanked Vice President Harris for her remarks.

"Our partnership indeed holds immense potential for this century. I am equally enthusiastic about elevating our cooperation in futuristic sectors," he tweeted.

PM Modi will conclude the last day of his US trip with an address to the Indian diaspora at the Ronald Reagan Center.
