Pakistan violates ceasefire in Uri, two killed

Srinagar, Nov 8 (IBNS): In a fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistani Rangers, a soldier and a girl were killed in alleged opened firing upon Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) with mortar shells at Uri Sector in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday.

According to reports, Pakistani Rangers fired with automatic weapons at several Indian posts near Nanak post at Kamalkote and Tika Post in Churanda along the LoC in Uri sector this evening.

Heavy firing continued for two hours, reports said.

A girl was killed in the incident.

A soldier, who belonged to the 1 Madrass, also sustained injuries and later he also succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports, intermittent exchange of fire fight was going on in the area.

Kashmir has witnessed almost uninterrupted ceasefire violation by Pakistan since August 15 this year. The fresh violations came after a
gap of more than one month along the India- Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
