Delhi: The owner of Radisson Blu hotel in Ghaziabad’s Kaushambi was found hanging at his east Delhi residence in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) village on Saturday, media reports said.

The deceased, who was in his 40s, has been identified as Amit Jain. He was found hanging by his family, police said, adding that no suicide note has been recovered.

Police said they received a PCR call around 12.25 pm, Indian Express reported.

“We rushed to the spot and found that Jain had come to his house in Delhi in the morning after having breakfast at his new house in Noida. The family is currently shifting to Noida,” DCP (East) Amrutha Guguloth was quoted as saying in the report.

On Friday, all the family members stayed back in Noida, and on Saturday morning, Amit left the house after breakfast. He drove his brother Karan to their office in Ghaziabad and went to CWG village residence, Guguloth said, according to the report.

Later, when his son Aditya and their driver reached the Delhi house for some work, they found him hanging, she added.

They immediately rushed him to Max Hospital in Patparganj, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The DCP said that the statements of relatives and eyewitnesses were taken.

She said no allegations of foul play have been made so far.

Further probe is the case is underway and proceedings under Section 174 CrPC are being carried out, she said.

“However, it has come to our notice that the deceased was under heavy debt…,” added the DCP, the report stated.

The hotelier was facing financial issues, police said, adding they are speaking to the family members to get more clarity.
