Operation Kaveri: Tenth batch of 135 Indians departs from Sudan

New Delhi: The 10th batch of Indians, who were stranded in conflict-hit Sudan, have successfully departed from Port Sudan on an IAF C 130J flight, read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.

The batch included 135 Indians.

As many as 135 Indians were evacuated in this phase.

The evacuation took place as part of Operation Kaveri which was launched by the Indian government to bring back the nationals stranded in Sudan.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted: "10th batch of evacuees with 135 passengers onboard IAF C-130J flight departs Port Sudan for Jeddah."

On Tuesday evening, the first batch of 278 Indians left Sudan Port for Jeddah on board INS Sumedha, while two other batches, of 121 and 135 Indians, were flown to Jeddah on board two IAF C-130J aircraft later in the night.
