Srinagar, Feb 23 (IBNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for raising his voice against the recent incidents of targeting Kashmiris across the nation following the Pulwama terror attack.

Omar tweeted: "Thank you @narendramodi Sahib. Aaj aap ne hamaray dil ki baat keh di."

Modi reacts on attacks on Kashmiris:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday warned against targeting Kashmiri people across the nation and said the fight of the nation was for Kashmir and not against 'Kashmiris'.

Violence against Kashmir people has been reported from different parts of the country since 40 CRPF jawans were killed in a terror attack in Pulwama area of Kashmir.

"Our fight is for Kashmir, not against Kashmiris," Modi said while addressing a press conference in Tonk.

Modi said his government is fighting against 'terrorism'.

The Kashmir terror attack incident left the nation shocked.

From top politicians to several other countries condemned the incident.

Amid reports that Kashmir students were targeted in several parts of the country following the Pulwama attack, former state CM Omar Abdullah on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Congress party for not making any comments on the incidents.

Omar had said attacks on Kashmiri students will lead to 'alienation'.
