Bhubaneswar, Nov 4 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested three politicians, including BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda, for their alleged connection in a chitfund scam.

Apart from Hansda, the CBI arrested former BJP MLA Hitesh Bagarti and ex-BJD MLA Subarna Nayak, reports said.

“They have been arrested on allegations of criminal conspiracy, cheating and diversion of funds,” CBI spokesperson Kanchan Prasad was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The three politicians were arrested for their alleged links with the financial fraud committed by chit fund company Nabadiganta Capital Services.

According to reports, both Hansda and Nayak have been suspended from party.
