Odisha: Armed Maoists loot guns from forest personnel

Bhubaneswar,Apr 24 (UNI) Seven armed Maoists, including three women cadres, looted four service guns from the Forest Range Office at Banigochha in Daspalla area late last night after threatening the forest Guards on duty.

Sources said the Maoists barged into the office late in the night and decamped with four service guns and seven mobile phones after threatening the forest guard on duty.

Intensive combing operation has been launched after Nayagarha DFO lodged a complaint with the Police.

A team of Nayagarh Sadar police led by the SP rushed to the spot for an on-the-spot investigation.

On April 17 last, a day before the second phase of election, the Maoist had shot dead a woman poll supervisor on duty at Bandapada under Gochhipada Police station in Kandhamal district and set afire a vehicle and a bike near Mugunipadar under Phiringia Police station of the district.
