North Bengal University's administration crisis prompts suspension of food for hostel boarders

Kolkata/IBNS: The ongoing administration crisis in West Bengal's North Bengal University has prompted its administration to suspend messing of the hostel boarders due to the lack of funds.

The university administration has issued a notice stating the messing will remain suspended from Mar 15.

The notice reads, "All the boarders of Ramkrishna Hall of Residence are hereby notified that the missing of R.K. Hall of Residence remain suspended from the morning of 15.03.2023 due to the unavailability of funds that can't be released by the Finance branch due to the present administrative crisis."

The service was later resumed, reports said.

However, the university professors are not sure of the continuation of the service for long in absence of administrative members including the Vice Chancellor.

This comes in the backdrop of the Opposition's repeated protests against the Trinamool Congress government for not filling the vacant posts in all educational institutions across the state.

The Trinamool government is already rattled by the allegations of corruption in the teacher recruitment scam.
