No toll collected on Delhi Noida Direct Flyway for second day

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IBNS): No toll was collected for the second day at the Delhi-Noida Direct Flyway, on Monday, after a group of BJP supporters continued to stage protests, according to media reports.

Led by BJP leader Nawab Singh Nagar, the protesters forced the toll bridge employees to vacate their posts and allowed vehicles to pass through without paying toll on Sunday.

The supporters, who have united under the banner called Janhit Morcha, have also demanded that an inquiry into the alleged financial irregularities into the toll collection, media reported.

Nawab Singh Nagar, a former UP minister, speaking to NDTV, said, "This protest is not politically motivated, it is to fight corruption. The Noida toll bridge company spent  Rs. 183 crore for its construction. They claimed they used over Rs. 400 crore, but even that cost has been covered. Now they are just continuing to loot people. This is not the first time we have protested."
