No shortage of bullet proof jackets, says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday informed the Rajya Sabha that there was no shortage of Bullet Proof(BP) jackets for the defence personnel.

Replying to a supplementary question in the Upper House, Mr Singh said that the protection of the country is first and foremost duty of the Government and all necessary steps are being taken in this regard.

'The quality of the BP jackets for defence personnel of are of best quality and the material being used in these safety gears are as per the specification of the Government', Mr Singh said.

The defence forces are getting the supply of BP jackets which would be supplied to the forces within the stipulated time, he added.

Replying to the other question, the Defence Minister informed the House that here is a high level of synergy among the security forces deployed in Jammu and Kashmir.

'There is proper co-ordination among the intelligence agencies, Army, Central Armed Police Forces and the state police which has resulted into a massive pressure on the terror outfits in the states', the Home Minister informed.

The terror groups were struggling for resources and leadership, he added.

He also informed the House that all facilities have been provided to the troops deployed at high altitude like Siachin and they are provided with all heath facilities during the posting in such places. The st
