'Nitish dreams of becoming PM every three months; all doors for allying with BJP closed forever': Amit Shah's barb at Bihar CM

Patna: Taking a swipe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said Kumar dreams of becoming the Prime Minister of India every three months and made it clear that there is no chance for him to ally with the BJP anymore.

While addressing a mammoth BJP rally at Lauriya in Valmiki Nagar of West Champaran district in the Seemanchal region of Bihar, Shah set the ball rolling for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Recalling that Nitish Kumar opposed the lawlessness in Bihar and stood for the sake of his ideologies, Shah said Kumar fought against Congress following socialist icon Jaiprakash Narayan’s footsteps and later against RJD’s jungle rule and formed the government in Bihar with BJP’s help.

However, he suddenly took a "U" turn and consumed by his greed for power chose Congress and RJD, which had unleashed the jungle rule in the state and the very forces he had struggled against all his life, Shah said.

Referring to the last assembly elections results of Bihar, the BJP leader said that even after emerging as the largest party and getting more seats, his party made Janata Dal (U) chief Nitish Kumar the CM, keeping its promises made to him.

This was done solely for the sake of development in Bihar, Shah said, and taking a jibe at Kumar said “now after every three months he dreams of becoming prime minister.”

The Union Home Minister said to realise his dream of becoming Prime Minister, Nitish Kumar turned into an opportunist from a development-oriented leader and preferred to be in the shelter of Congress and RJD.

He said Kumar is ruining Bihar, as he is spending crores of rupees to pursue his ambitions despite knowing that there is no vacancy for the coveted post in 2024.

Shah said PM Narendra Modi would come back again in the year 2024.

Describing JD(U)- RJD association in the Grand Alliance as an "unholy" alliance, the top BJP leader said that JD(U) and RJD are like water and oil which cannot mix and in this combination JD(U) is like water while RJD is like oil.
