NIA to probe killing of RSS leader Ravindra Gosain in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Oct 19 (IBNS): The Punjab government handed over the case pertaining to the killing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Ravindra Gosain in Ludhiana to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday, media reports said.

Ravinder Gosain, 60, was shot dead in the Kailash Nagar area when he was returning home after an RSS drill on Tuesday morning.

Reports quoted police as saying that Gosain was shot at twice from close range. He died on the spot.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday condemned the killing of RSS leader Ravinder Gosai in Ludhiana.

Condemning the incident, Gandhi said 'violence is unacceptable'.

The official Twitter page of the Congress leader read: "I strongly condemn the killing of RSS leader Ravinder Gosai in Ludhiana. Violence is unacceptable. The guilty must be brought to book."

Gosain was a Sangh Pracharak or regional leader of the RSS in Ludhiana.
