NIA files supplementary charge sheet against 10 Nagaland government employees for funding to NSCN (K)

Guwahati, Jun 1 (IBNS) : The National Investigating Agency (NIA) filed a supplementary charge sheet against 10 Nagaland state government employees for funding to rebel groups, according to recent media reports.

NIA had filed supplementary charge sheet (NIA Case No. RC-01/2016/NIA/GUW) in Special NIA Court, Dimapur in Nagaland on Thursday against 10 Nagaland government employees, who have beenwere arrested by the investigating agency for allegedly diverting public money to the banned outfit NSCN (K)

The 10 accused government officials were arrested by the NIA under section 39 and 40 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 on different dates in 2017 and 2018. The employees are - Alienba Pangjung Jamir, Joint Director/DDO, Department Of Land Resources, Kohima, K Lashito Sheqi, UDA/Cashier, Department of Land Resources, Kohima, Tulula Pongen, Joint Director/DDO, Department of Social Welfare, Kohima, Vilepral Aja, Additional Director, Attached to Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima, K Hutoi Sema, Executive Engineer, Dept. Of Irrigation & Flood Control, Kohima, Kekhriesatuo Tep , Superintendent of Fisheries, Kohima, Purakhu Angami, Retd. Director, Department of Tourism, G. Ikuto Zhimomi, Director, Directorate of Agriculture, Sangtemchuba, Divisional Accounts Officer, Directorate of Urban Development, Kohima, and Ketouzo Peseyie, Executive Engineer, Directorate of Rural Development, Kohima.

“Investigation has clearly established involvement of these government officials in the crime. The case was registered on the charges of large-scale extortions and unlawful tax collections by various terrorist organizations, gangs. The extortion drive was carried out under the direction of self styled Brigadier of NSCN (K), Issac Sumi. First charge sheet against three cadres of NSCN (K) had already been filed on January 25 this year,” was mentioned in the supplementary charge sheet.

NIA had quizzed former Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and his then personal secretary K Francis Zeliang at the investigating agency's office in New Delhi in March last.
