News of Shabana Azmi getting injured in road mishap is 'distressing': PM

New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the news of actress Shabana Azmi getting injured in a road mishap is 'distressing'.

"The news of @AzmiShabana Ji’s injury in an accident is distressing. I pray for her quick recovery," Mr Modi tweeted.

Ms Azmi's car got hit by a truck on Pune-Mumbai Expressway near Khalapur toll plaza in Maharashtra, reports said.

The actress was rushed to a hospital at Panvel in Maharashtra.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier tweeted, saying he was praying "for her fast recovery and good health".
