New trouble for Congress as Sachin Pilot might launch new party ahead of Rajasthan polls

Jaipur/IBNS: Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who has often challenged and warned his party in recent weeks amid its struggles to project unity in Rajasthan, might soon give another blow by launching his own party in Rajasthan just before polls in the state, media reports said.

There has been intense speculation that Sachin Pilot, 45, could make an announcement about launching a new party on June 11, the death anniversary of his father Rajesh Pilot, also a Congress leader.

According to reports, there is no big rally planned on June 11. Like every year, there will be a programme to commemorate the death anniversary in Dausa as it was Rajesh Pilot's constituency.

Sachin Pilot has given his own government an ultimatum on acting on corruption allegations against the BJP's Vasundhara Raje.

The Congress leader has alleged that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, his in-house rival, has not taken any action against Vasundhara Raje due to a pact with the BJP leader, a charge that the BJP has strongly refuted.

Earlier, the leaders had put up a show of unity and promised a "united fight" in the Rajasthan election.

However, according to reports, the breach between the two leaders remained unsurmountable and the relationship may have reached a point of no return.
