New Delhi: Holi celebrated in Chinese Embassy

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) China's Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui on Sunday extended greetings to the people of the nations of India and China, on the festival of colours - 'Holi'.

Holi, which according to Hinduism marks the beginning of spring season, was celebrated at the Embassy of China in the National Capital, with pomp and fervour, for the second time.

The Ambassador said that the neighbouring countries share ancient civilisation and century-old bond. Both the nations have significance in global diaspora, as they harbour one-third of the world's total population, he added.

According to the Chinese Ambassador, his country has made tremendous progress in the past years. Today, the Chinese economy stands at 140 billion dollars, he said. 'India has also developed in recent years,' Mr Zhaohui pointed out.

'Holi Milan' ceremony was jointly organised by the Chinese Embassy and the Confederation of Young Leaders.

Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders and Chief Executive Officer of BRICS Chamber of Commerce Sameep Shastri, Ambassador of various countries, officials of the Chinese Embassy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of United News of India Vishwas Tripathi, Journalists and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
