Navy successfully tests LRSAM's from INS Kolkata

New Delhi, Dec 30 (IBNS) The Indian Navy on Wednesday successfully tested Barak-8, a long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) from INS Kolkata, the Ministry of Defence tweeted.

In a 4 part tweet, the Ministry said, "Indian Navy achieves a significant milestone in enhancing its anti missile defence capability."

The missile was tested on long range targets.

"Successfully test fires long range surface to air missiles from INS Kolkata. Aerial targets destroyed at extended ranges."

"Quantum jump in air defence capability of Indian Navy. LRSAMs being fitted in capital warships progressively."

Calling their new achievement a joint effort, the Navy said, "Joint effort of Indian Navy, DRDO & M/s IAI, Israel."
