National People's Party leader Letpao Haokip joins BJP

Imphal: Manipur Youth Affairs and Sports Minister and National People's Party (NPP) leader Letpao Haokip on Wednesday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national capital.

NPP with four MLAs is an alliance of the BJP.

Dy CM, Y Joykumar, is the other NPP minister in the N Biren Singh government.

Election for the Manipur Legislative Assembly is expected to be held early next year.

BJP leader Sambit Patra tweeted: "Today, Minister in Manipur Government and International Footballer Shri@LetpaoHaokipJi joined the@BJP4India
by expressing faith in successful principle of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas" by Honourable Prime Minister Shri
@narendramodiJi."
