Narendra Modi wishes former PM Manmohan Singh on his birthday

New Delhi, Sept 26 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his birthday.

Singh, who had served the nation as the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, turned 83.

Wishing him, Modi tweeted: "Warm birthday wishes to Dr. Manmohan Singh ji. May God bless him with a long and healthy life."

PMO India tweeted: "PM @narendramodi spoke to Dr. Manmohan Singh ji and extended birthday greetings to him."

The Congress party also greeted the leader and tweeted: "We wish Dr Manmohan Singh a Happy Birthday & thank him for taking India to glorious heights."

Singh was born on Sept 26, 1932 at Gah, now in Punjab, Pakistan.

His family migrated to India during its partition in 1947.
